Firefly in Japan on the Your-Japan Blog Network

Hi there.  Good to see you, and thanks for remembering me.

It’s been almost exactly one year since I stopped posting.  To everyone who has been regularly checking back to find nothing, please accept my apologies.  I’ve been a bit busy.

A quick update.  I still live in Japan.  The saga isn’t finished yet.  Not by a long shot.  And in my typical Firefly fashion, I’ve had all sorts of adventures and strange things happen to me in the one year since I left.

I’m looking forward to sharing them with you.

The site will be undergoing renovations for the next couple of weeks and maybe more.  Your-Japan will become the premier destination for Japan bloggers, and I want to make a really awesome environment for you to blog in, and share your Japan story.  You might see some errors floating about the place.  Side note : If you’re familiar with Wordpress MU and available to offer some advice, I would be very grateful for an email to yourjapan.admin@gmail.com.

Next.

I’m going to be planning something.  Something big.  Something I’ve never done before, but I’m very excited about.

I’m going to be writing a book.  About me, and Japan.  I’m aiming for the Saga, times 10, on steroids.

I’m also a bit nervous.  This is one of the biggest things I’ve ever attempted in my life.  I want it to be really, really special, and not just recycled stuff you’ve already read.

I’m going to be creating a new category called “Firefly’s Quest to Publish a Book”.  I’m going to share the trials and tribulations, the ups and downs, and giving you the inside details on my road that will lead to me eventually publishing a hugely successful and popular book (hopefully!).  I hope I can count on your support, I don’t know if I can do this by myself.

This has been a dream of mine for a long time.  I want to create something special with this category devoted to tracking my efforts to publish my book.  It is my humblest hope that after my book has been published, it will be an inspiring tale of what can be accomplished with big goals, perseverance, selective blindness, community support (thats you guys!) and unwavering optimism.

Now, moving onto my next goal.  I want to give you, faithful reader, a passengers seat view into my life, my next big challenge, and my adventures.  I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
